Must be a different type than yours, but equally lovely. We use saffron in savoury dishes, as you said, & I love what it does for rice but hadn't considered it for baking (but then, I'm not a cook).Lora Hugheshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09172866617524279809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8081101795597600004.post-69148463565855903332019-11-17T20:16:03.412+00:002019-11-17T20:16:03.412+00:00The red foliage of No. 5 is very nice. I move mine from the shade to sun for part of the day in September, the leaves take on a stronger colour than if they are in full shade all the time. I use saffron in all sorts particularly savoury dishes. I shall aslo use some in my version of Christmas Bread, which is a twist on panettone. What is your favourite way of using saffron?Stasherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02616094223215469144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8081101795597600004.post-32156588407974191712019-11-17T13:02:08.312+00:002019-11-17T13:02:08.312+00:00I've been brooding over my saffron crocus, won...I've been brooding over my saffron crocus, wondering when the flowers will appear. I thought it was November in previous years but since you're game w/yours, I'll try to stop being impatient. What recipes do you like for baking w/saffron? Great looking foliage in your garden at the mo. Your loropetalum is more red than mine.
