In a Vase on Monday - Three corned vase

A very small contribution...a very small crystal vase triangular in shape, just right for three flowers.  I had never thought of picking crocuses until I had seen them used in previous weeks in Cathy's vases. So I have really having been inspired by Cathy's three pretty vases and the theme of three.

I moved them to the conservatory where the warmth of the sunshine helped them open fully.

Last Wednesday I saw some bees in the garden for the first time this year, and I hope they were able to have a little top of pollen...for I fear that over the last couple of days and into this week, it will be far too cold for any bees to be out!

  2. I've never tried picking crocus either. They look so pretty and cheerful in your vase.

  3. I agree, Bees and crocus are two of my favourite things. Spring is on the way despite the freezing temperatures.

  4. Oh so pretty Noelle - and a triangular shape vase is an excellent idea. The crocus are really lapping up the warmth in your photos, aren't they?

  5. Simple and beautiful, is the foliage from the Crocus?

    1. No the foliage is not sufficiently grown, and for the few I have, I have decided to leave them to feed the corn for next year. The leaves are Ophiogon planiscapus nigrescens and the variegated ones from planiscapus Little Tabby, the same ones I used several weeks ago with my snowdrops..I have just added fresh flowers every few days, and the leaves have really worked each time.

  6. The vase is perfect and you captured the light streaming through the crocus beautifully, Noelle. I was shocked to find a few crocus growing in my own garden this year. I planted a lot of them soon after we moved it but, even the first year, there were few blooms so, after 5 years, it was a surprise to see a few appear but maybe the colder than usual temperatures in December and January made the difference.

  7. The squirrels have carried away my crocuses and the bees aren't out yet, so I love seeing yours, I'm surprised how much they opened. I like your three-cornered vase, I also get a lot of inspiration from Cathy and IaVoM, Noelle.
